Snowmageddon – The Beast From The East
Image showing main road out of Tideswell this week
Well well, first week of Spring was met with “The Beast From The East”!Â
See the image, and I could have chosen a hundred more.
We have not had a collection since Tuesday, the transport system has been understandably in shutdown.
As we sit, Sunday evening, we are seeing black roads on the traffic cameras and only some yellow warnings in the short term forecast, although there is snow and sub-zero temperatures forecast.
If there is no change, we should receive a collection tomorrow/Monday. However the backlog from us, and all other consignors, is going to result in up to a weeks delay on all current orders.
As the forecast is so poor, if you are requiring logs, I would suggest getting orders in ASAP to get yourself up the waiting list and at least they can get on the road.
Don’t worry, everything is in stock here (except 8″ RTB larch that will be ready by end of week), we don’t let a little bit of snow and howling gales hamper our operations in the yard :).
Finally, on a different note, we have decided to make use of the exceptionally high traffic to our website, and give something back, so we have started an occasional series on our blog to highlight small local charities.Â
I have started with Horseback UK this week, please send any suggestions of worthy causes you think we could highlight.
